We finally finished the staggered downpayment for our truck, whew! Next month we only have to worry about the monthly payments and the insurance. It's funny how much money you can save up when you're aiming to buy something, hmmm?
Pala Casino Resort and Spa has signed the contract to be our venue sponsor for the Best of Asian-Night weekend event made up of an all-day car show/street party and the 2005 Miss Asia California. They have also given us around 5000 huge posters to promote the event as well as a professionally designed stage plan for the beauty pageant. Oh and the top level parking lot to use for the car show.
We started putting up posters, but conservatively since we had to battle for the toll free battle that is printed in all the 5000 posters! This morning all was ironed out and our poster's toll free number does not need to be erased anymore.
Oh, by the way, I designed an informational website for the event-- go visit http://www.asian-night.com
I figured out how to get web hosting, a domain name, signed up for paypal, designed the page and installed phpbb (the forums are currently empty and I'm wondering if I should post discussions to start it off). I aim to continually develop the site as we go along in the year and more content will hopefully be available.
I wrote marketing contracts, sponsorship contracts and entry/candidate contracts. Designed forms and letters. And sent out sponsorship invitations to the potential sponsors I researched.
As my boss says, having your own business is no easy task. But I know it will all be worth it!
Went to San Francisco last weekend, crossed the lengthy Bay Bridge, went to Japan Town, visited friends. Went to visit my grandma in San Jose then on to Patterson City where my husband's married friends encouraged us into looking into buying our first property soon!
All in all, February's been great:) Hope you had a good one as well! Hopefully I can write more soon. Enjoy!

misconceptions...

we watched the superbowl with my husband's cousin who lives in moorpark (near the ronald reagan library). he had just returned from the philippines and had just gotten a new girlfriend. when he first told us about it over the phone, i had my assumptions particularly since the girl was a singer and she had asked him to stay at their place already before he had gone back to the US.
he had several video clips of her performances and from the way she sang and danced i could tell she wasn't as bad as we had all thought. even though she sang in front of a crowd, i could tell she was shy because she avoided looking at the audience. and though she wore skimpy outfits, the way she moved was never overtly sensual. she even seemed boyish to my husband.
she looked as though she wouldn't be hard to get along with. and for arnold's sake i hope she is really in love with him. he's a good man, he deserves someone to love him too. when i see that she is such a person, i will make sure i befriend her, hopefully i can drive by the time she gets here so maybe we can go shopping together or something like that:)
misconceptions should not really be adhered to, i think you should get to know a person first before judging her personality. hopefully we will be able to meet marianne soon:)

i've just survived one week and almost 2 days of being a one-woman department. and though people here have been very nice and say thank you whenever i do an update for them-- it has been tiring. but my boss was right, i enjoy having the big office all to myself-- and the other bosses seem to enjoy my attending the managers' meeting every other day. well, they're all very funny and i do admit to enjoying the experience. the one thing i'm happy about with this experience is-- i don't have to do budgets:) hehehe.
in the homefront, my husband and i are busy trying to get the best of asian-night event off. fyi, we already got a venue sponsor for the event. and i'm almost done with the website:) now if i only remember how to do all those flash magic stuffers:)
have a great week, everyone!
