Nikon D90: Falling in Love All Over Again

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

One of the reasons I fell in love with the Nikon D90 is because of its video recording feature. Now most point-and-shoot cameras have a video recording feature - what makes the Nikon D90's different is that it is an SLR and you can do a lot of still photo effects with an SLR. Now combine those photo effects with your video recording in HD and what do you get? Really cool video clips!

I must admit I've had my D90 for a long time now, but last Saturday was the first time I ever used the live view feature. I was in a birthday tribute concert and these group of young ladies started singing a really old song live - and they sounded like the real group. Wow!

Before I knew it, I had pressed the Live View button and figured out that pressing the OK button in the middle of the navigation controls would turn the video recording on. I didn't have a tripod so the video is a bit shaky. There was this annoying green light that shone out from the middle of the stage that made me set it to portrait mode. Here is the video, which I uploaded to YouTube.

Thank you, ladies - for making me fall in love with my D90 all over again. I hope you enjoyed watching my short video. Have a great day!
