Date Night at Big Thunder Ranch
Posted by Liza Cordero
Yesterday, my husband and I were able to try out the dinner menu at Big Thunder Ranch. We rarely eat inside Disneyland, usually opting to go to Downtown Disney for dining. The Big Thunder Ranch barbecue was an "eat all your care to" style dining experience with live performers to entertain you while you dine.
The entertainment was very engaging. We loved watching the kids sing and dance along with the singers - even the babies enjoyed themselves! They loved the country songs, the guitar and the piano. Everyone looked like they were having a great time, there were no stressed parents - as far as I could see. Everyone was smiling as they ate by the light of lanterns, using jars as drinking glasses and having meat brought in cast iron pots. There was definitely some country-style magic going on in Big Thunder Ranch that night!
We kicked back and just enjoyed everything. The stars twinkling up in the sky - with only the translucent canopy blocking the night sky from view. I loved sipping hot chocolate topped with sweet whipped cream while talking with my husband and watching the young kids having fun on the makeshift dance floor. Now these are the kind of Disney experiences that are... priceless!
I hope to bring all my future kids to Disneyland - to introduce them to all the wonders of childhood and innocence in the happiest place on earth. I will definitely recommend this place to all the kids (and the kids-at-heart!) I know. May all your date nights be as magical and one-of-a-kind as ours!
